With colors as her melody, artist Mia Rose’s textural rhythms transcend the boundaries of reality, taking her audiences down her own path of nostalgia and a journey through her therapeutic practice. Originally from Miami, FL, she takes on traditional textile-based techniques with a contemporary spin, using her craft as a vessel to navigate emotions associated with fear, memory, dreams, sexuality, and self-identity, while investigating her role within her Colombian and American cultures through anthropomorphization of the physical self. 

Mia is a recipient of the Windgate-Lamar Fellowship and has had the opportunity to show her work internationally, including Canada, Sweden, and in multiple galleries in Boston, where she received her BFA in Studio Art from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University. Mia is currently pursuing her MFA in Fashion, Body, & Garment at the School of the Art institute of Chicago.
